RentACoder - Legal
In order to provide a safe marketplace for doing business, Rent a Coder has created a number of policies and contracts.
Contracts
The custom Software Buyer and Seller agreements cover all legal aspects of using the site for buyers and sellers. For buyers it covers everything from posting projects to escrowing of funds to receiving the final work. For sellers it covers everything from bidding on projects, to working on them, to receiving payment. Since Rent A Coder abides by federal laws, no party may participate in illegal activity such as the construction of viruses, spam or intrusion of secured systems.
The affiliate agreement covers all legal aspects involved in becoming an affiliate. It covers everything from referring customers to be paid for referrals.
Finally, the site terms and conditions is a general legal agreement that applies to all users. It covers everything from warranties, to privacy to trademark information.
Policies
The bid request posting policy is a list of project categories that are not allowed on the site. Examples include spam mailers, spam harvesters, malware, keyloggers, crackers and viruses.
The rating and rating comment change policy describes the category of ratings that can and cannot be changed by Rent a Coder.
The copyright or tradmark infringement/patent violation policy, describes how users who allege this type of issue can resolve it.
